How do you feel about people who are constantly opening new forums and closing their old ones? Do you think that hurts their credibility? Would you stop joining that person's next forum after a while?

From a strangers viewpoint, yes, it hurts their credibility and often stops them from joining the next forum also. (and rarely from an 'after a while thought') People enjoy forums that have been around a while especially if they are somewhat active or very active. Some don't care if it is active as long as it lasts. There are a lot of views on this topic since it has been asked in various ways for years. (tho I haven't seen the question asked for a long time now) I could go on and on for hours lol

Depends on how much they do it. Sometimes admins will close a forum due to life issues then come back to create a new forum when they get that sorted. I think you can give someone a second or third chance if they come back and seem committed this time around.
However if someone is opening and closing forums over and over again without any legitimate reason for doing so, then I'll probably stop joining their new forums. People don't want to invest their time into something that will be deleted in a week or two.

Thankfully I barred Naiwen from my forum for telling me how to do my job.

How do you feel about people who are constantly opening new forums and closing their old ones? Do you think that hurts their credibility? Would you stop joining that person's next forum after a while? Yes, it's extremely dumb & pointless. I had a forum for 11 years & during those 11 years I once paid a few bucks to change the url to something more fitting & once changed the entire theme/set up of it. Some were not happy with the theme change, although it wasn't even a drastic change & no posts or threads were deleteted, just moved to a different area. (This took place the last 2 years of the forum) but that was on them to stay or leave,- it was my choice & for a meaningful cause. The 2 members I started it with both passed away in about the 9th year of the forums run. They were my best online friends who were the 1st 2 to join & know about it when I put it up & it was a hard hit so a change had to be done. Starting a whole new forum for anyone is destroying every post & discussion. And would be so much pointless work & so much lost if it was a good running forum. Or even if it wasn't its like unnecessary work for nothing. Mine is no longer open to the public but I've kept its name going & turned it into a nice Instagram page & blog, & am glad you & Webster are there with me. I still didnt delete my forum because occasionally I look back on the old posts & messages there & smile, sometimes remembering certain topics & messages, other times thinking, omg,- I actually said that- or what in the world were we talking about in 'that conversation'- how funny! And it's sentimental for me. Cause I've saved ever PM there as well. I will never reopen it but looking back on it, it's memorable- having that community those loyal members for those years mattered. I have no time for that today w/ the changes that took place there, then in my personal life last year. I very seldom go to any forums. Most admins have kicked me out because I'm so inactive, but grateful Websters allows me in. I'm going to try to come by here more! 👍 Sending love & appreciation to Webster

When that poster used to be on News, Tunes, Spoons every 2 weeks or so I'd get an invite to a different forum she put up. I joined the 1st one then was like WOW as she kept inviting me to the next then & closing up shop again! 😳

I've just kept mine alive even if it means more dust than posts.
