(Daily Kos Elections) MT-Sen (R)/MT-AL (D): With over a third of precincts reporting (and, with early vote, probably a majority of the votes in), we’re starting to see slivers of daylight in these two races. In the GOP battle to find a challenger for Democratic Sen. Jon Tester, state auditor Matt Rosendale now leads former judge Russell Fagg 33-31. Meanwhile, in the Democratic primary for the U.S. House, former state legislator Kathleen Williams leads attorney John Heenan 34-32.

(Daily Kos Elections) CA-Sen: Right now, this might be the most exciting race, in terms of the identity of the challenger to incumbent Sen. Dianne Feinstein. Fellow Democrat Kevin DeLeon moved into the second slot a little while ago, but he is not pulling away from Republican businessman James Bradley. Right now, the raw vote difference between the two lies at just 4400 votes out of 2.1 million cast.

(daily Kos) IA-GOV: Hubbell at 55% is well above most predictions. He’s won almost every county: John Norris won his home county with 70% of the vote, Nate Boulton (who withdrew due to sexual misconduct claims) won his home county 39%-33%, and Cathy Glasson won one rural county (Mills). IA-01: Abby Finkenauer should finish at 67% in a 4-way race. This is about what was expected. IA-03: Cindy Axne should finish at 58% in a 3-way race. The margin is something of a surprise, she was tied with Eddie Mauro at 27% in the one public poll. Eddie Mauro’s uncle John Mauro (a 16-year incumbent) lost by a 2-1 margin in his Polk County Supervisor race. IA-04: JD Scholten with 51% in a 3-way race. This was largely expected.

(Daily Kos Elections) CA-Gov/CA-LG: Meanwhile, the statewide primary for Governor is behaving predictably, with Democratic Lt. Governor Gavin Newsom (35%) well ahead of Republican businessman John Cox (26%). Both are well ahead of the rest of the field. For what it’s worth, at last check the total Democratic vote here was 60%, with the total Republican vote at 39%. Also, a potentially interesting outcome downballot—right now, the GOP is shut out of the race for Lt. Governor, despite the fact that they had a candidate (Cole Harris) who had been pretty free-spending (if my own TV watching habits are any indication). Eleni Kounalakis (23%) and state legislator Ed Hernandez (20%) are holding off Harris (19%).

With most of the races either called or in the process of votes being counted, we're going to call it a night here at the C2; thanks for following along...
